13 Autosport Expands 2027 Racing Program with Key Events and Returning Drivers
Canadian team 13 Autosport is set to broaden its racing horizons in the 2027 season, emphasizing a robust campaign in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD class, a return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and its inaugural participation in the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour on February 14.
The core driver lineup remains intact, featuring owner/driver Orey Fidani, Corvette Racing factory driver Matt Bell, and endurance specialist Lars Kern. Fidani and Bell will compete full-time in the #13 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R Evo, while Kern will join them for the Michelin Endurance Cup, encompassing five races.
Fidani achieved notable success in 2026, earning the Bob Akin Award for the third consecutive year, securing the team’s automatic invitation to Le Mans in the LMGT3 class. Together, Fidani and Bell finished fifth in the IMSA GTD Drivers’ Championship, with podium finishes of third at Indianapolis and fourth at Daytona.
“I’m incredibly proud of this team and everything we’ve accomplished together,” said Fidani. “Winning the Bob Akin Award again and earning another opportunity at Le Mans reflect our hard work, but we’re not done.”
Bell expressed enthusiasm about the continuation of their collaboration: “It’s great to be continuing with Orey and 13 Autosport. We’re looking forward to another shot at big wins in IMSA and our journey to Le Mans.”
Kern, also hopeful for improved performance at Le Mans after a challenging previous outing, stated, “I just can’t wait to get into the Evo version of our Corvette Z06 GT3.R and do it all over again.”
Looking ahead, 13 Autosport is exploring additional European race entries for the 2027 season. Andrew Wojteczko will remain as a consultant following the acquisition of his AWA team, while Competition Director Jeff Braun will depart after a successful tenure highlighted by a GTD class victory in the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
As the team prepares for a competitive season, the focus will be on leveraging their achievements to secure further successes on the international stage.
