PONOS Racing Strengthens Line-Up for 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series
PONOS Racing has confirmed the addition of Tadasuke Makino, the reigning SUPER GT Series champion, to its driver roster for the 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series. The 29-year-old pilot will drive the #45 Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, teaming with PONOS Racing owner Yorikatsu Tsujiko and 2024 GT300 runner-up Takuro Shinohara.
Makino, who captured the GT500 title in 2020, has a decade-long association with Honda, starting with the Honda Formula Dream Project. His career highlights include two seasons in Europe, where he became the first Japanese driver to win a Feature race in the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2018.
In his recent endeavors, Makino joined PONOS Racing as an advisor and driver coach, contributing to a fifth-place finish at the prestigious Suzuka 1000km, the best performance among Japanese teams.
Currently, Makino ranks third in the GT500 standings with Team Kunimitsu and Honda, having secured the first win for the new Honda HRC Prelude-GT earlier this August.
The 2026/27 Asian Le Mans Series is set to commence from November 13-15 at Circuit Paul Ricard in France, shifting locations due to ongoing regional conflicts. This event will follow the conclusion of the SUPER GT season at Mobility Resort Motegi.
