Winward Racing to Compete in 2026 24H Nürburgring Under New Banner
Heiligenhaus, Germany – Winward Racing, competing this year as Mercedes-AMG Team RAVENOL, has officially confirmed its return to the 24H Nürburgring. The team will field the #80 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, backed by Ravenol, across six rounds of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and at the ADAC 24H race in May.
The German-American team has a notable history at the Nürburgring, having secured second overall in 2016 as part of a Mercedes-AMG 1-2-3-4 finish. Last fielded in 2019, Winward has since achieved three GTD class victories at the 24 Hours of Daytona and claimed multiple titles in the IMSA, GT World Challenge Europe, and 24H Series.
The #80 entry celebrates Ravenol’s 80th anniversary, reflecting their pivotal role as a sponsor and title partner of both the NLS and the Nürburgring 24H. The vehicle’s livery pays homage to the scheme utilized by driver Maro Engel during the previous DTM season. Driver announcements for this campaign are pending.
Christoph Sagemüller, Head of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport, remarked, “Working with RAVENOL to run a Mercedes-AMG GT3 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife exemplifies what we stand for at Mercedes-AMG Motorsport: long-term partnerships, the highest level of technical expertise, and uncompromising performance.”
As the season approaches, the motorsports community anticipates the resurgence of Winward Racing in one of endurance racing’s most prestigious events, showcasing the collaborative power of the Mercedes-AMG and Ravenol alliance.
