Dylan Ferrandis Withdraws from Indianapolis Supercross Due to Injury
March 5, 2026 – Indianapolis, IN — Dylan Ferrandis, rider for Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Ducati, will not compete in this weekend’s Monster Energy AMA Supercross in Indianapolis following injuries sustained during last Saturday’s race at Daytona International Speedway. An MRI revealed no fractures or ligament damage, but significant swelling and bruising in his thumb are impeding his ability to ride safely.
Ferrandis crashed during the 450SX heat at Daytona, hyperextending his thumb. Despite initial attempts to participate in the main event, he subsequently retired after another crash exacerbated his injury.
“I had an MRI on Tuesday and the results were positive with no broken bones and no ligament damage,” Ferrandis stated. “I tried to ride today, but right away on the first lap, I felt my thumb was not capable of pushing or holding onto the handlebars. It’s very frustrating.”
With a scheduled break after the Indianapolis round, riders are taking this opportunity to recuperate, and it is anticipated that Ferrandis will aim to return for Round 10 in Birmingham, Alabama, two weeks from now.
Ferrandis will focus on rehabilitation during this time to ensure a safe return to competition.
