Chevrolet Introduces Updated Camaro ZL1 for 2026 NASCAR Cup Series
Chevrolet has announced that teams competing under its banner in the NASCAR Cup Series will debut an updated Camaro ZL1 in 2026. This new race car will feature styling enhancements that align with the recently released Camaro ZL1 Carbon Performance Package, designed to optimize the sixth-generation Camaro’s performance capabilities.
Key updates to the race vehicle include a larger hood power dome, a redesigned front grille, and more pronounced rocker panels. These modifications reflect the design elements of the Carbon Performance Package, including the carbon fiber hood insert and ZL1 1LE-spec front grille and splitter.
The Camaro ZL1 made its NASCAR debut in 2018, but the Camaro branding will be phased out after the 2024 season, coinciding with the model’s discontinuation.
The updated Camaro ZL1 will make its test run at the exhibition event at Bowman Gray Stadium, set for February 1, 2026. Chase Elliott secured victory in this event for Hendrick Motorsports in 2025.
As Chevrolet approaches the 2026 season, the manufacturer aims to secure its sixth consecutive manufacturers’ championship, reinforcing its competitive legacy in the series.
