Kyle Busch Partners with New Crew Chief Andy Street Ahead of Charlotte Roval
Kyle Busch will team with Andy Street starting this weekend at the Charlotte Roval as part of Richard Childress Racing’s (RCR) preparations for the 2024 season. This change follows the announcement that Randall Burnett and RCR will part ways after this season, despite a successful partnership that yielded three victories earlier this year.
RCR confirmed the crew chief transition on social media, stating, “With Richard Childress Racing and Randall Burnett parting ways at the end of the season, RCR has decided Andy Street will step in as crew chief of the No. 8 team with driver Kyle Busch, effective this weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Burnett will continue contributing in a support role with the organization through the end of the season. Additional information regarding future competition roles will be shared at a later date.”
Burnett and Busch have faced challenges since a successful inaugural season together, during which they secured three wins. However, the duo has struggled to replicate that success, and as a result, Busch did not qualify for the Cup Series playoffs in both 2024 and 2025.
As part of the offseason shake-up, Burnett will join Trackhouse Racing as a crew chief for rookie Connor Zilisch in 2026.
Street, who has been with Childress for several years, has experience across both the Cup and Xfinity Series. He previously served as crew chief for the No. 33 car during select Cup races and led Austin Hill to ten victories in the Xfinity Series from 2022 to 2024. His expertise will be crucial as Busch aims to regroup and build momentum for the upcoming season.
